To create a link from your page to another page in the Sutton Poyntz website:

  • First, select the text and/or image that you want to be clickable to link to the other page - text should be descriptive of where the link goes to; for example "sightings of yellowhammers";
  • Click the Tree Link button in the Editor Toolbar. This opens a Link control window (illustrated to the right) that allows you to create a link either to another page in the Sutton Poyntz website or to a page on another site;
  • Click the + sign next to Content; this opens up a list of pages on the Sutton Poyntz website, organised by topic (as in the image below);
  • Navigate down through the topic tree to find the page you want to link to. Click on that page name;
  • Optionally, you can enter text into the Title box - this will appear as a tooltip when the user hovers over the link;
  • Now in the Target tab, set Target to Same_window, so that the new page opens in the same browser window;
  • Click the OK button.

Note that currently events in the village calendar cannot be linked to in this way. To link to an event, go to the calendar in the village website, open up the event, and make a copy of the address. Follow the instructions above, but rather than looking for the page in the list of pages, select the URL box and paste the address of the event page.
