The aim of the Sutton Poyntz Homewatch group is to help residents provide security support to their neighbours, to receive security and home protection advice from the Police and to be informed, via an information cascade system, of matters affecting the local area and factors having wider security implications.

The village is split in to several manageable areas and each area is administered by a volunteer local resident who ensures this detail is made known to the Homewatch members (residents).

The group comes within the Radipole and Preston Safer Neighbourhood Watch scheme that is run from the Dorset Police headquarters. The local watch team comprising a Police Sergeant, Police Constable and a Police Community Support Officer. This safer neighbourhood team (SNT) manage security and police responsibilities within their domain. There is no cost to be a member. The village coordinator (Peter Jones) will visit potential members to discuss the scheme and provide security information booklets and seek your agreement to support the scheme. Your contact details are bound by European Data Protection rules and will not be divulged to any other organisation.
