 From Sutton Poyntz: From the top end of the Mill Pond, go a few yards along Mission Hall Lane, and then right into Fox Lane. This takes you past Fox Cottage to a gate into the field called Court Close

 From Sutton Poyntz: Go through the gate, into the field, and up the track on the right-hand side of the field

   To Sutton Poyntz: At the bottom end of the field called Court Close, the track goes through a gate to the top end of Fox Lane, which takes you to the village and Mill Pond

 From Sutton Poyntz: Continue up the track from Fox Cottage, and through the gate at the top of the field called Court Close

   To Sutton Poyntz: At the bottom of the slope, turn to the right, through the second gate and into the track alongside the copse

   To Sutton Poyntz: Follow the track to the bottom, where you will find two gates on the right, the first into a field and the second into a track alongside a copse

 The view up Spring Bottom, with the Ridgeway and Margaret's Seat behind. This fold in the hillside is caused by a pair of geological faults, which have also caused the spring that is exploited by the Sutton Poyntz Waterworks

 Turn aside for a moment, to sit on the seat, by the Millennium Beacon, and enjoy the views of the village and beyond

   To Sutton Poyntz: Half way down the slope, you come to a 'cross-roads', where you can turn back up the hill to the left, or towards Plaisters Lane to the right. You can also turn aside for a moment to the Millennium Beacon

   To Sutton Poyntz: Coming from the East, the path reaches a gate - go through onto the track that goes down the hill towards Sutton Poyntz

   To Sutton Poyntz: From the Ridgeway path as you travel westwards from Margaret's Seat or East Hill, a narrow path to the left goes downwards, across the field parallel with an overhead cable, towards a gate and then down towards the village

   To Sutton Poyntz: From the Ridgeway path as you travel eastwards from the top of Plaisters Lane, go though the gate and turn right along a path by the side of the field, towards another gate and then down towards the village
