 From Puddledock Lane: After Puddledock turns south, take the footpath to the right

 From Puddledock Lane: Go through the stile, and follow the path keeping the hedge to your left. The path turns to the left and goes through a gate; it then climbs diagonally across the next field

   To Puddledock Lane: Follow the path as it turns to the right, still keeping to the hedge on your right, until you reach the stile leading out into Puddledock Lane

   To Puddledock Lane: The path descends the slope, diagonally across the field. Go through the gate, and follow the path keeping to the hedge on your right

 From Puddledock Lane: After the reservoir, the track goes north-east towards Combe Valley Road, with Chalbury to the right

 From Puddledock Lane: The track goes through a gate, and down into the valley, to join Combe Valley Road. Alternatively (using the fact that this is a "right to roam" area), turn right after the gate, up the hill and through the earthworks into Chalbury Hill Fort. It is then possible to cross the fort and to go down (quite steep) to the footpaths on the north side of the fort
