 From Plaisters Lane: Take the footpath to the north about half way up Plaisters Lane, to the side of the cottage called Wyndings. The footpath skirts the cottage garden, up to a gate that leads through to the hillside. (P.S. the footpath sign had temporarily disappeared when this photograph was taken)

 From Plaisters Lane: Go through the gate, and follow the path to the right as it slowly ascends the hillside. Warning, the path is narrow and steeply sloping in places - not for those who are not firm of foot

   To Plaisters Lane: Follow the footpath down the side of the hill, and alongside the hedge at the bottom, to the gate. Go through the gate, and then keep left until you reach Plaisters Lane, just to the side of the cottage called Wyndings

 From Plaisters Lane: Follow the path up the hillside, towards the Millennium Beacon

   To Plaisters Lane: The path from the Millennium Beacon goes down the hillside, towards and then alongside the hedge at the bottom. Warning, the path is narrow and steeply sloping in places - not for those who are not firm of foot

 From Plaisters Lane: At the Millennium Beacon, you come to a 'cross-roads' of footpaths, where you can turn right down to Spring Bottom and Fox Cottage, or left up West Hill, or straight on towards the Ridgeway above Spring Bottom. Or turn aside for a moment to enjoy the views from the Beacon itself

   To Plaisters Lane: Coming down the hillside to the Millennium Beacon, you reach a 'cross-roads', where you can turn left towards Spring Bottom and Fox Cottage, or to the right back up the hill, or straight on towards Plaisters Lane. Or turn aside for a moment to sit by the Beacon and enjoy the views

 From Plaisters Lane: From the 'cross-roads', you can go straight ahead towards the Ridgeway above Spring Bottom. This path is quite steep and narrow, and flanked in place by gorse

   To Plaisters Lane: The footpath down from the Ridgeway enjoys lovely views, but is quite steep and narrow, and is flanked in places by gorse bushes

   To Plaisters Lane: Turn off the Ridgeway path near the gate into the field. The path goes down the side of West Hill towards the Millennium Beacon, and then on to Plaisters Lane. In places, the path is quite steep and narrow
