Just a reminder about two imminent events.
The Village Garden Party is this Saturday, 20 May from 11am to 3pm in the Rectory Garden in aid of our four local halls - St Andrew's Church Rooms, Scutt Hall, the Mission Hall and Preston Village Hall. This promises family fun and entertainment throughout the day, including music from the 'Dorset for Singing' Choir, children's activities and numerous stalls. Refreshments of all sorts and a barbeque will sustain the inner person and all this for only £1 per person entry, free if under 16. Do drop in, enjoy yourself and help maintain our local venues.
The following day, Sunday 21 May, marks the Sutton Poyntz Society Walk - approximately 7½ miles starting at 10am from near the end of Colliers Lane in Wool (GR846865); plenty of parking is available there. Walk leader Richard Backwell promises an interesting walk with a coffee stop mid morning and an easy amble to Lulworth Castle to partake of your packed lunch (you can end your walk here and be picked up later if you wish). After lunch, the walk continues via the Tower and a different route across the fields back to Wool. I'll see you there.
