tonys logo2 December 2017 - Waterworks and Children in Need
Dear all,

Waterworks

Wessex Water are advising that major water main works are planned along Sutton Road and Preston Road early next year.

The work will take place between Preston Village Hall and the Sutton Road junction between Tuesday 2 January and Friday 2 February; there will be traffic lights and hence likely delays, but access will be maintained throughout. Work on Sutton Road will follow; the road will be open for most of the time, but the southern end will be closed overnight (10 pm to 6 am) from Monday 5 to Friday 11 February, and the road will be closed at the Puddledock Lane junction overnight from Monday 12 to Friday 16 February. Access to Verlands Road and Puddledock Lane will be maintained. The water supply will be as normal for most of the time, but when they have to interrupt the supply any affected households will get 48 hours notice.

It might be as well to mark these dates in your diary and allow extra time for your journeys in those periods.

If you are still unsure about the planned activities, there will be a drop-in session at the Scutt Hall on Thursday 14 December from 6.30pm to 8.30pm , where you will be able to obtain detailed information on how the work is being organised.

Children in Need

The recent Pop-up restaurant in the Mission Hall raised the magnificent total of £780 for the Children in Need Appeal. Jean, Hilary and Maureen would like to thank everyone who contributed to make this total possible, not forgetting those who came along on the day. More details in the next Newsletter.

 Regards
Chris
