We intend gradually to publish here old pictures of Sutton Poyntz. Click on any of the pictures to view a larger image.

First, some pictures, courtesy of Wessex Water, of the water standpipes that used to supply water in the village.

Next, photos of the village Forge, which stood at the fork between Sutton Road and Plaisters Lane; these photos are courtesy of the Methodist Chapel members who compiled a Chapel history in the 1980's, at the Chapel's 50th Anniversary.

Next, a number of photographs that were obtained from Fredy Litschi, mostly taken by him between 1966 and 1992:

Finally, here is a video that was compiled for the 2022 Platinum Jubilee exhibition at the Mission Hall on 3rd/4th June 2022. This video lasts about 30 minutes, and includes film taken by and for Ronnie Waite, the Springhead publican in the 1950's and 60's, plus recordings of reminiscences by some of the villagers who had lived longest in the village, recorded as part of the Dorset AONB "Ridgeway Voices" project. These reminiscences are accompanied by a variety of photographs, many taken by Fredy Litschi. The video file is too long for us to be able to display here, but click the link to download it (which may take a minute or several).
