As you know (but might have forgotten) we will be cleaning up the pond this Saturday morning (12th October).  Get yourself there about 9.30am.  Bring whatever hand gardening tools you think might be useful - I can say rakes, shears, secateurs, wheelbarrows, wellies/waders will all come in handy.  We'll be putting the cleared foliage etc. over the wall into the pub overflow car park for temporary storage while the bug-life finds its way back to the pond.  Then in a few days the society will arrange for it to be removed for composting.  The pub will be generously providing some sustenance and we'll be done and dusted well before lunch.

 

If all that effort cleaning the pond leaves you famished, then hold on for a few days and join Maureen and other like-minded ladies who lunch - they'll be getting together as usual on the third Thursday of the month (in October that's the 17th) at the Springhead at 12.30.  Give Maureen a call on 835533 to let her know you're coming and then the pub can arrange tables in advance.

 

Simply a reminder to keep Saturday evening (November 16th) free for another fun quiz evening.  The questions will be vaguely 70's / 80's themed but you're also welcome to don your tank tops, leg warmers, etc. to fully enjoy the occasion.
