A basket of odds-and-ends for you today, including a busy calendar of Christmas events!

Village Quiz tonight
Completely sold out.  So sorry to those who couldn't get tickets but the Mission Hall fire insurance only allows us to have 60 people in the hall - always a bit annoying but good to have a problem with too much demand for events rather than too little!  Maybe book now for 2025?

Map on phonebox
The map that Mike Haine and Jez have been working on for a few weeks came to fruition on Wednesday when Swift Signs installed it on the back/side of the phonebox.  It's even better than we anticipated - and we all hope it will be useful to residents and visitors alike.

Pub charity morning
This annual event in memory of Jo and Karen's dad, John Owen, and to raise money for the hospital's Fortuneswell Ward, will be held on Saturday November 30th 1000-1400.  Come for a complimentary croissant, coffee, and cake and just make a kind donation.  You could even stay over for brunch/lunch (and a pint!)

December (Christmas) Coffee Morning
The usual monthly coffee morning on December 6th will be Christmas-themed, meaning mince pies, stollen, Yule log, and all manner of delicious seasonal goodies.  Well we can all hope but I might have exaggerated...

Village Christmas Tree lighting
Just when you've got over the morning binge, on the evening of December 6th at 1830 we will be officially lighting the village tree by The Cartshed - and a local celebrity will stick his/her finger on the button.  Yup, more mince pies - and mulled wine!  The tree is again so generously donated by Peter and Tamzin, a.k.a. Trinity Street Christmas Trees.  Make sure you get your tree from the right supplier...

Art Exhibition / Sale
I'm reliably informed that the village Art Group will be mounting a small exhibition and sale of their work on Saturday 7th December 1100-1630 at the Mission Hall.  There will of course be coffee and cake available, and a lot of Christmas gift ideas (the sort that you can hang on your wall).

Salvation Army carols
Just a date for your diary - Monday 16th December at 1830 outside the Mission Hall
