Monday 8th May has been designated 'The Big Help Out' day in honour of the King's coronation. The idea is for individuals or communities to do something for charity, either as a one-off or as a long term commitment.
I was inspired by this idea and have signed up, as has Nigel, Jon and Ian. I have found that the Weldmar Hospice is looking for volunteers on the day to do some maintenance in their gardens. It would be lovely if other members of the Sutton Poyntz community joined us - we were thinking it might be nice to volunteer for the morning and then have a late lunch together afterwards which we are happy to host / organise.
If you do decide to join us, the Weldmar has asked that you do this via the 'Big Help Out' app for your phone. Download the app and then search for The Weldmar and you should find it. You will need to register and then sign up - all fairly easy but do ask for help if needed. It would be nice to know numbers so please drop me a line on This email address is being protected from spambots. - Plus some planting/weeding and general garden maintenance which we are finalising.

I hope I have inspired some of you to explore The Big Help Out - there are lots of other worthy causes needing help if the Weldmar project doesn't appeal to you.
