1 April 2015 - E-Update number 4
Dear friends,
A few bits of news that can't wait for the next village Newsletter.
First, just over a week ago the BBC recorded one of the baptisms that are held from time to time in the River Jordan, at the top end of our village pond. This will be broadcast on Easter Sunday's "Songs of Praise", on BBC1 at 4.55 p.m. For more details, go to http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b05qnvx4.
Second, on Wednesday 15th April, the Sutton Poyntz Society has organised a Quiz Night, at the Mission Hall. Entry to the quiz is free, and nibbles will be provided free, but bring your own liquid sustenance. "There's no such thing as free nibbles" said a wise man (or more likely a wise woman), and this is very true in this case, as the Quiz will be preceded by the Society AGM, starting at 7.30. This should not take too long, but it has been an interesting year for the Society.
Thirdly, the Village Friday Art Group will be holding their third Spring Art Exhibition on the weekend of 2nd/3rd May. Entry will be free, and delicious teas/coffees and cakes will be available. The Mission Hall will be open from 11.30 to 4.30 p.m. each day. Please come along to support the Art Group, and enjoy the art and refreshments.
Best wishes,
Bill Egerton
