26 September 2016 - Coffee Mornings and History Evening
Dear all,
I hesitated with this Newsbite as it is an admission that the Summer is over and Winter looms. However there are some bright spots on the horizon, foremost amongst which are the Coffee Mornings held on the first Friday in the month from October to March inclusive at the Mission Hall. These take place between 10.30am and noon, and cost only £2 per person, which includes a cup of tea (if you are of the stiff upper lip brigade) or coffee (more of a 'have a nice day' sort of person) and a piece of delicious homemade cake. Most mornings have a themed display e.g. in November John Newbould will produce some biodiversity material for our delectation. The first Coffee Morning is on Friday 7 October, and it is rumoured that an exciting new initiative will be unveiled. Mustn't spoil the surprise (or cause disappointment if it is delayed), but it will be a treat for your taste buds so bring a few extra pennies so you can spoil yourself. See you there.
Some advance notice of another event which will banish the Winter blues. Bill Egerton will be presenting his 'Owners of Sutton Poyntz' talk - including some previously unheard additional material - at 7.30pm on Wednesday 26 October in the Mission Hall with refreshments after. Tickets are available from Bill on 832872 or via
Best regards
