17 May 2017 - Village walk start directions
Dear all,
A little bird has whispered in my ear that some intending village walkers this coming Sunday, 21 May, are not too sure where it begins. The grid reference of the start was given as 846865 in Wool, but it has been pointed out to me that this doesn't help if
1. You haven't got the right map
2. You don't know what a grid reference is
3. You have trouble with numbers
4. You have none of these problems but just don't have the time to sit down and work it out
So if you fall into any of these categories (or even if you don't) here are some alternative directions.
Head for Wool until you come to the Winfrith Business Park roundabout (which, if my memory serves me correctly, is the second roundabout after leaving Sutton Poyntz on the main road). Anyway, straight on at this roundabout (second exit) into Wool until you come to some shops on the right hand side of the road (about ½ mile). Just before these shops is Colliers Lane. Turn right into Colliers Lane and, passing the Village Hall on the left continue to the T junction with High Street/Lulworth Road (here I'm relying on advice, as I don't think I've ever been all the way along the Lane). This junction marks the start, so park nearby and join the throng of villagers wondering if they have the correct spot.
