8 June 2018 - SP Victorian Fayre 24 June
Dear all
With the Victorian Fayre only two weeks away, Chairman David Langridge says
"Things are coming together nicely. The main charity beneficiary this year will be the DCH Cancer Unit appeal. We all know someone who is suffering with cancer and has to travel to Poole for treatment so a facility in Dorchester will help immensely and benefit so many people, Of course other charities will also be supported e.g. WaterAid, the Mission Hall and lots besides. The more we raise on the day the more we can pass on to deserving causes.
All the committee have done a fantastic organising job. There will be a full fun packed children’s entertainment area; the bands and artistes are all booked and divided between both stages; catering is organised ready to serve, bread will be baked by Balfey’s Silver Street Irregulars to name just a few of the things to enjoy, not to mention the commercial and craft stall pitches which were allocated many weeks ago.
The village stalls are Perfect Presents, Accessories, Paperback Books, Antiques & Bygones, Designer Clothes, Children’s Toys Country Ways, Handmade Crafts & Artwork and Gardening. These still welcome donations which can be taken along to the Mission Hall on Monday and Tuesday mornings between10 and 11am. They will be gratefully received and passed on to the relevant stall holders.
We are also running a raffle this year and Goadsby’s have kindly provided prizes for us but if anyone knows a company that could add to these with a donation, or wants to provide us with a nice bottle of wine or spirits to add to this we would be grateful. Manpower is always a challenge but Jez Cunningham has done a great job. If anyone now feels they can help on the day please contact him (835811 or 07774 541301) and Dave Martin (836322) is always looking for helpers before the day to help set up and on Monday 25 June to help clear everything away.
Finally a special thanks to all the villagers of Sutton Poyntz for embracing this community event every two years. It is hard work, but a lot of people have fun and we raise lots of money for charity at the same time. Please encourage everyone you meet to attend the Fayre, and let's have another great day."
Regards
Chris
