14 February 2019 - Imminent work in and around the pond

After discussions with knowledgeable parties, some of the work around the pond that was mentioned in the recent Newsletter is about to start.
Firstly, tomorrow, Friday 15 February, contractors will remove some of the reeds nearest the road side, leaving a tidy semi-circle. If time permits they will do the same on the opposite bank. A village clear-up is planned for the near future, but after this work there won't be need for a boat or wetsuits.
Secondly planning consent has been received for a medium trim of the willows along the pond side. This will take place on Tuesday 19 February through to, and including, Thursday 21 February. It would help if there were no cars parked on the road during the working day for this period.
This activity is being paid for with a grant received from Weymouth Council.
