tonys logo 14 February 2020 - Result of Village Plan Referendum

Dear all,

There was a large turnout for the Sutton Poyntz Neighbourhood Plan Referendum yesterday. In total 47.4% of those eligible voted – that’s 189 people - and of these 81% voted yes to the question “Do you want Dorset Council to use the neighbourhood plan for Sutton Poyntz to help it decide planning applications in the neighbourhood area?”

Nick Cardell, a Senior Planning Officer at Dorset Council, says that the Plan will now be used in full to determine planning applications in the Sutton Poyntz area.

Peter Dye believes that the high level of interest in the Plan is a reflection of the quality of its presentation, and that all those who participated in the process of creating the plan, answering surveys, attending (sometimes long) meetings, writing minutes, drafting policies or simply offering comments and suggestions, are to be congratulated on the professional result they achieved..

Anyone who would like a copy of the village Place Appraisal (as a memento, or simply to weigh down their coffee table – his words, not mine I hasten to add) Peter hopes to have hard copies available for purchase at the March Coffee Morning, at, I believe, a cost of £15.

Regards

Chris
