19 February 2020 - Bake the Balfey way

Sutton Poyntz own Master Baker, Chris Balfe, will once again be organising free classes instilling the basics of baking in six easy lessons, starting on Tuesday 21 April in the Mission Hall. As a complete novice I turned up to his last set of lessons with some trepidation, as I knew that my ability to make a reasonable bacon butty would not be a great help. In the event I need not have worried. Plenty of explanation, hands on practice, insider tips and encouragement from the other trainee bakers (some experts in sheep’s clothing) made the experience very enjoyable and great fun. And there are lots of lovely smells and tastings too! So if you would like to learn how to produce a delicious loaf, or even something more exotic, go along to the Mission Hall at 1pm on Tuesday 21 April.
