A message from the Chairman of the Sutton Poyntz Victorian Street Fayre:
I am pleased to be able to announce a final number issued from our Treasurer, the great news is we will be giving away just over £17,000 to local charities as a result of the Sutton Poyntz Victorian Street Fayre.
A big thank you from me as Chairman goes to the whole village, as again a lot helped in some way to achieve this success. I have recently sent out a draft of our charity list to the committee for their comments and once we have that list sorted we will hold a “giveaway” evening to hand out all the cheques. I will again announce that via the Newsletter.
I need to also say a big thank you to my committee who did a sterling job, everyone pulled together and contributed a lot to ensure a successful day.. Many of you will know we had a number of stiff challenges this year but we managed to deal with all of them to put on an excellent day.
We all realise it is very disruptive for the village but we had nothing but plaudits all day from young and old. Our Weymouth Mayor and Town Clerk also came to visit us on the day and both were very impressed by the strength of community in the village and how long we have put on this inspirational event.
