14 October 2023 - Shiny, Curry, Magic, Gardening, Christmas
Red and shiny!
Yup - it's the Bookswap and Tourist Infopoint - a.k.a. the Phonebox! Those unsung heroes have been out getting busy again. Light fitting mended, cobwebs gone, books tidied, leaflets restocked, and all the paintwork refreshed! Looking glorious! Thanks boys and girls!
Curry Night - with Magic
On Saturday 25th November the Sutton Poyntz Society will host a Curry Night - with an extra dish of Magic! No, it's not a new Bhaji recipe, but a couple of real live professional magicians who will entertain us while we nibble our poppadums. We're giving you plenty of advance warning because we need to have the catering organised and tickets will only be available until the 17th November.
You can book your places - and order chicken or veg option, and pay (£12) via:

Gardening Club
The club meets monthly, hosted by one of the members and has now met three times since it was started.
The programme includes discussions about different aspects of gardening, visits, discount shopping at Poundbury Garden Centre, talks and probably much more as the club evolves! Next meeting Thursday 9th November. Anyone interested please contact Jane Young on 833408 or email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
And although Christmas is a looong way off, a couple of dates for your diary:
Village Coffee Morning - Friday 1st December - mince pies, stollen, chocolate logs... - one or more of these might be available - free!
Village Christmas Illuminations - Sunday 3rd December (Advent Sunday) - the village Christmas Tree will be lit. Another opportunity for a gratis mulled wine and a mince pie!
As always the village website diary can remind you of all these wondrous events - just pop over here!
